(4W 03) 4WD Jeep Tour: Traditional Colonial Villages, Waterfall La Pajcha and Pre-Colombian Kilns. | |
Complete description:
Our cameras will be poised and ready as we leave Samaipata for the town of Quirusillas, where we will visit a lagoon full of fish and aquatic birds and surrounded by steep hills. After a snack, we head on to Postrervalle passing through Tierras Nuevas, a village full of beautiful countryside and traditional farming, where you can still find people plowing the earth with yoked oxen. Once we arrive in Postrervalle (a colonial village often called the ¨Garden of Delights¨) we will wander through the streets in a photo-tour of the town, during which we discover various aspects of these hospitable Valluno inhabitants´ daily life. The panoramic photo oppertunity from the Virgen de la Roca is a must see. Lunch includes typical foods from the region.
If time and road conditions permit, we will continue on to Vilcas, or if preferred, we can go back by way of La Pajcha (a spectacular waterfall surrounded by abundant vegetation, a trout-filled natural pool, and sandy beach), or we can retrace or route and visit the archeological site El Surtidor.
The combination of sites and time taken at each one (5 hrs in jeep and 4 to 6 stops of 30-45 minutes each) are subject to changes based on dirt road conditions, and some sites may be inaccessible.
